Connectivity Map
This Sankey-style flow diagram traces the causal chain from six competing AHI hypotheses through twelve scientific disciplines to twelve investigation targets. Thicker lines indicate stronger relevance. Click any hypothesis to isolate its investigative pathway.
Six Competing Causal Frameworks
Acoustic / Ultrasound
Focused ultrasound or infrasound exposure producing direct mechanical trauma to the vestibular apparatus and cochlear hair cells. Primary investigative axis for neuro-otological and acoustic physics disciplines.
Pulsed RF / Microwave
Pulsed radiofrequency or microwave radiation producing the Frey effect or direct neural disruption. Requires simultaneous bioelectromagnetics modeling and signals intelligence attribution.
Mixed-Etiology Model
A combination of physical and biological mechanisms producing heterogeneous symptom profiles. Requires the broadest cross-disciplinary collaboration to characterize individual case contributions.
Functional Neurological
Functional neurological disorder with psychogenic amplification. Requires careful differentiation from organic injury through neuropsychological assessment and functional neuroimaging.
Infectious / Autoimmune
Infectious agent or autoimmune response producing neuroinflammatory injury. Requires biomarker science and immunological profiling to identify pathogen-specific or autoantibody signatures.
Chemical / Toxicant
Environmental toxicant or chemical agent exposure producing neurotoxic injury. Currently quarantined pending additional environmental sampling and human biomonitoring data.
